One of the coolest events during Boothbay Harbor Windjammer Days is the live music that takes place in the center of town on the Whale Park Stage. Even more pleasing is the fact that these concerts are open to everyone at no charge. The wide ranging mix of artists and genres offers a delightful experience that promises to transcend generations. Kicking off the first nighttime gig on Tuesday, June 25 is Gina and The Red Eye Flight Crew. This high energy band will have you up and moving to the beat of R&B classics, soul and some impressive original music.
Check out the amazing line up of young artists hitting the stage including 13 year old Owen Kennedy who will captivate you with his sophisticated beyond his years fiddling. Seventeen year old Meghan Clark from mid-coast Maine has been performing since she was 14 and has even opened for LeAnn Rimes. Come hear her soulful indie/country vibe. You won't want to miss The Band Capitol made up of college students who go to school all over country and get back together in Maine during summers.
Some great local favorites also make this year's line up including the fun loving Dave Gagne Band, performances from our own Windjammer Princesses & King of the Harbor, the very talented Ben Betts, our beloved Boothbay Harbor Community Band, and popular local blues band the Don Brewer Blues Project.
Other really cool bands to check out are The Work Trucks led by small boat adventurist Brendan Lake, the very powerful Motown sounds of Pat Colwell and The Soul Sensations, some great jazz tunes from the Delta Knights Jazz Duo, and we end the week with a big finale from the Dyer Neck Gang. All concerts are brought to you free of charge by Friends of Windjammer Days. Awesome live music overlooking stunning Boothbay Harbor is something not to be missed. Grab your friends and family, some take out food and beverages, and come on down to Whale Park for some great music.
