A bright new makeover for the Lighted boat parade!

Big changes happened for one of the 2025 boat parades, and it made the event bigger, better, and safer for everyone involved! What was once known as the Lighted Boat Parade has evolved into the Windjammer Days Decorated Boat Parade, an exciting transformation that invited more creativity and more opportunities to join the fun without the issues of navigating in the dark.
Starting earlier at 7 PM, the new format allowed for a stunning display of decorated boats before nightfall, ensuring every colorful detail was appreciated in full view. The shift meant more boaters could participate without the late night clean up in the dark making it a more inclusive and dynamic event for the entire community. And that’s not all, participants had even more reasons to bring their A-game. In addition to the thrill of showcasing their vessels decked out in spectacular designs, boaters competed for three cash prizes:
🏆 First Place: $400
🥈 Second Place: $200
🥉 Third Place: $100
Plus, every participant received a $50 fuel card from our generous sponsor Hodgdon Marina as a heartfelt thank-you for joining in on the celebration! This earlier hour included the added bonus of a watch party and winner celebration at Mine Oyster.
